For most people, the disappearance of Jude Appleton isnt the biggest of losses – he spent his whole time on Coronation Street lying and deceiving and then tried to steal his young son George from his mother Angie.
But Mary Taylor, who only got to know her long lost son in recent years, is frantic as weeks after his abrupt departure, she hasnt heard a thing from him. With Jude having even left his phone behind when he scarpered, Mary worries that something terrible has happened to him as he wasnt in a good place.
As her fears grow, she suggests to Angie that they go to the police but Angie is less than keen and thinks that this could just be another game of Judes. However, Mary takes matters into her own hands and reports Judes disappearance herself and soon Angie is having to answer questions about her husband.
Angie tells the police that Jude is a compulsive liar and simply ran way when he was caught out and Mary is devastated to learn that the police know all about Judes dishonest nature. Afraid that the police will now not take his disappearance seriously, Mary cant hide her fear that Jude may be dead.
