James Arthur and Anne Marie took to X Factor to perform their Greatest Showman duet ahead of the final.

And while the pair got a standing ovation from the judges, it appears viewers at home werent as impressed with the performance.

Expressing their views on Twitter, fans questioned James vocals and called the stars out for sounding weak in comparison to the contestants.

However, the former X Factor winner has hit back at the comments and blamed technical issues for his performance.

Taking to Twitter he thanked fans for the nice words before explaining what went wrong.

However I dont know why they had crowd mics blaring throughout and vocal levels all over.. not the mix we wouldve liked you to hear. X

Anne added: Thank you for your LOVELY comments about our performance on #xfactor I was NERVOUSSSSSSSS.

Fans were quick to comment on their posts and showered the pair with support.

One wrote: Just listened it James! I didnt hear fuck all! Just an amazing duet We lot hasnt got pro ears but can hear good music…dont worry, it was perfect!

While another added: You shouldnt worry about things that was out of your control, you fulfilled your vocals impeccably as always.

Even Rylan Clark-Neal had his say and praised the singer for his performance.

He tweeted: Knew the second u started you had a problem with ur ears. Still smashed it brother xxx

Simon Cowell decided to shake up the X Factor finals last night by allowing all three acts to go through.

Previously it was set that one would be sent home, meaning only two acts were in tonights last episode.

However, the music mogul had a change of heart and put them all through to give them the chance to shine.

A source told The Sun: Simon thinks this is one of the strongest finals ever and has decided theyve all earned the opportunity to shine.

Plus, all three being able to perform their winners single will improve the odds of the public choosing a song that will trouble the charts.

They added: Simon cant wait to see them all battle it out until the very end.
