Anne Hegerty says a lot is cut out of Im A Celebrity as she reveals her favourite campmate

In a show that only airs for a maximum of 90 minutes a night and which places so much emphasis on grisly trials rather than day to day life in camp, its inevitable that viewers will only ever get a small snapshot into what is going on in the jungle and what the celebrities are actually like.
And Anne Hegerty has explained that if fans were seeing more than what Im A Celebrity shows in its edited episodes, there would be no debate over whether Nick Knowles acts of kindness are genuine or not.
In an interview with Metro.co.uk, she said: I hope were all going to stay in touch! John wants to set up a WhatsApp group, so were all patiently waiting for him to get out of there in order that he can start one. The families have a WhatsApp group already, so Im a bit jealous. Id say Im very fond of all of them, but I guess its no secret that my favourite is Nick.

I was a bit surprised when Nick was voted out, but at the same time I knew he wanted to get out, and it does mean those of us who are already at the Versace get to spend some time with him sooner than the wrap party!

Honestly, from the conversations Ive been having with people since I got out, I think theres a lot of things Nick has been doing that have just not been shown. People seem to know that candlewax was spilled on Johns gilet, but when I say, “Were you impressed by Nicks scheme for removing the wax when the producers said they wouldnt provide a new gilet?” they all go, “What scheme?”
And I dont think theyve seen how protective he gets with the other campmates, and how hell have blazing rows in the Bush Telegraph if he thinks the rest of us are being put at risk in any way.
Anne is now reunited with Nick along with Rita Simons, Malique Thompson-Dwyer, Sair Khan and Noel Edmonds and she credits her fellow campmates with keeping her from quitting the jungle. Well, them and the potential legal ramifications if she walked.
She told us: I dont know that it was something to be proud of. My staying in was a combination of being terrified of what the legal and financial implications might be if I didnt, knowing that I would be crushed with guilt if I walked before my brother could have his trip to Australia and his nice hotel, and letting my campmates persuade me into staying “just a few more hours”, “just one more night”, “you dont have to do any trials if you dont want to”, because they were all so phenomenally nice. I wouldnt say I displayed any strength of character there, to be honest.
