Linda Carter is set to be left fearing that her husband Mick has killed Stuart Highway in EastEnders, meaning he could find himself right back in prison. But how far did Mick go when he carried out his violent revenge – and will he confess the truth to his wife?

Mick put his plan into action after seething at the thought of Stuart making moves on Linda while he was inside and a showdown followed. With Stuart nowhere to be seen, Linda soon overhears a conversation between Mick and Phil Mitchell – and fears the worst.

She probes Mick for details on what has happened but he is cagey. She then makes a worrying discovery which compounds her anxieties and she dreads her family being ripped apart all over again.

Addressing the situation, Kellie Bright told Metro.co.uk: I think Lindas main concern is that he will end up in prison! Its that more than anything, for her Micks home, thats all she wants. Micks here, lets just push everything thats happened, lets forget about it, draw a line under and just move on, thats what she wants to happen.

Of course that cant happen straight away, so I think its just the fear for him really, not the fear of what he could potentially do to Stuart but just where its going to land Mick.

It remains to be seen what Stuarts fate is and whether there will be huge consequences for Mick down the line but its safe to say it wont be a happy Christmas for the Carters.

Kellie sighed: In terms of Christmas for Linda its fairly low key and quiet, but also I wouldnt say its a happy Christmas, everything is under the surface, its one of those, lets not talk about the great big elephant in the room.
