Kim Fox-Hubbard is about to find herself with a very unexpected midwife in the form of Phil Mitchell in EastEnders – as he is forced to help her deliver her baby in the Minute Mart stock room. Well, it kind of beats the Queen Vic toilets where she welcomed Pearl into the world.

Since Vincent disappeared without a trace, Kim has rebuilt her life and tried to get her head around the prospect of being a single mum to two kids, all while not truly knowing the fate of her missing husband.

Given Phils involvement in Vincents downfall earlier this year, he has felt like he owes Kim and nothing says payback quite like helping her through labour.

As Kim and Phil end up accidentally locked in the store room, Kims waters break and Phil has no option but to help. Eventually an ambulance is called and Denise Fox rushes over to the shop fearing the worst only for a smiling Kim to emerge with her newborn baby.

Kim is in high spirits through the week after meeting her baby but Denise fears this is all an act and worries that the arrival of the newborn has reopened Kims wounds over Vincent. Later, Denise and Kim thank Phil for what he did and as Christmas was up in the air due to her giving birth, Kim decides to host another day for the family and invites Phil along with Dennis.

After the dinner, Kim gives Phil a gift as a thank you and he is touched and then Kim decides on a name for the baby.

But as she looks to the future, has she put Vincent behind her – or is another shock lying around the corner?
