Coronation Streets Beverley Callard wasnt happy when she read the scripts detailing Liz McDonalds affair with Johnny Connor.
The fan-favourite character, who first arrived in Weatherfield 29 years ago, confessed that she believes Lizs relations with her married pal is completely out of character.
Speaking to the Loose Women panel on todays show, Beverley revealed what she really makes of the current cobbles storyline gripping the nation, beginning: I have to tell you when they first gave me the scripts and Liz slept with Johnny, I was like “nope, no I dont want to do it.
Liz would never do that, I dont think, to another woman.
I dont think she would have slept with a married man, but I have no say in that and so you have to play these things where youre kissing men and all the rest of it, you know.

Beverley added: More often than not we get scripts in and you just love them and think “oh wow, this is amazing,” but occasionally you can think “I just dont think she would do that.”

Liz and Johnny had a one-night stand in scenes that aired in the summer, which has now led to Johnnys wife Jenny to stalk Liz by installing a tracking app on her phone.

Although her fate remains firmly under wraps, its been teased that Johnny could be facing a lengthy prison sentence for what happened to her.
