Milo Ventimiglia says winning awards isnt the be all and end all after This Is Us didnt pick up a Golden Globes nomination.

The drama, which also stars Mandy Moore, didnt pick up any nods from the Globes for 2019 despite getting four this year.

But Milo, who plays Jack on the show, has shrugged off the lack of nods this time around, saying: Its just the way that it is.

What matters most to me is how happy my crew is filming, how satisfied our bosses are, and the conversations that continue to happen from the audience. Thats what matters the most to me.

Being recognised by larger groups is great, but I dont hang my hat on it, he told Variety.

He added that he thinks awards dont really matter because they ultimately diminish a lot of hard work of people that arent in the categories of awards.

The actor explained: If someone walks up and says, “Hey I love the show, or I love your movie, or I love your work,” great. Thats what means the most to me.

As well as three Golden Globes nods this year, This Is Us picked up a win for actor Sterling K Brown who got best actor in a drama series.

However the drama is nominated for two Screen Actors Guild awards next year – outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series and Brown for outstanding performance by a male actor in a drama series.

This Is Us follows the complicated lives of a set of triplets and their parents.

This years nominees for best drama television series are The Americans, Homecoming, Killing Eve, Pose and Bodyguard. Bodyguard also scored a best actor nomination for British actor Richard Madden.
