Anyone whos stuck with The Walking Dead through nine seasons of exposed entrails and popped-out eyeballs must have a pretty high tolerance for gore. But just in case youre a bit squeamish, a warning: the zombie dramas latest teaser trailer is gross. Given the character its introducing, that was bound to happen.

At long last, the Whisperers have come to the world of AMCs Walking Dead adaptation—including their leader, a woman known as Alpha. In this brief teaser, we see the vicious leader—played by Samantha Morton—assembling her disguise. Like all Whisperers, she wears zombie flesh in order to wander the decaying apocalypse undetected.

Hints of the Whisperers impending debut have been present for a while on the show—but in its Season 9 midseason finale, the series made things official by letting one of the groups new foes kill Jesus in a surprise twist.

As one might have guessed, the Whisperers are yet another antagonistic group when they debut in the comics. Theyre so bad, in fact, that eventually (spoiler alert!), Negan even teams up with Ricks group to fight them. Of course, theres no guarantee any such alliance will happen in the series, where Rick has already disappeared and Negan has broken out of his prison cell in Alexandria.

In the comics, Alpha is both smart and merciless, and also highly abusive of her daughter, Lydia. Its unclear how much of this will carry over into the television series—but regardless, it seems safe to bet that the small-screen version of Alpha will be just as ruthless, with a very strong stomach. After all, it takes a pretty strong constitution to sew together a mask out of skin.
