At just eight years old, actress Brooklynn Prince is ready to make her directorial debut. Prince, the teeny star of 2017s heartrending drama The Florida Project, announced on Instagram Thursday that shes helming a film titled Colours, with some support from Sean Baker. In the set photos she posted, the elementary school-aged Prince is seen doing all manner of directorly things, such as standing behind the camera, chatting with her cast, and smiling with her crew (including Baker) as they scout locations. A tiny legend!
“My dream of directing started on The Florida Project,” Prince writes in the caption. “I loved watching Sean work and was inspired by his patience, vision, and creativity. Since then my dream was to become one of the youngest directors of all time. 
Today my journey as a director begins. Thank you to my friend and mentor, Sean Baker for believing in me, and to the amazing crew and cast. I hope to make you all very proud. I can't wait for the world to see Colours. 
”
Baker tweeted about the project as well, saying Prince also wrote and stars in the film.
The future auteur became a breakout last year after playing an extraordinarily cheeky kid misadventuring her way through a Florida motel. Prince also aced the rigors of awards season, delivering adorable acceptance speeches, inventing new poses on the red carpet, and charming late-night talk-show audiences.
Details about Colours plot and cast are not yet readily available, but Vanity Fair has reached out to Princes team for comment. In the meantime, Prince will be juggling her directorial debut with her acting work, as shes currently slated to star in a still-untitled Apple show.
