Coronation Street actor Daniel Brocklebank has hit back at a Twitter user who complained about the gay kiss that aired between Billy Mayhew and Paul Foreman.

The user tweeted that there should have been a pre-show warning before airing two blokes snogging, writing: [There are] warnings about swearing, but not two blokes snogging.

He added that hed felt uncomfortable watching the scenes with his 10-year-old relative because hed been asked why it had happened.

Daniel, who plays Billy, saw the tweet and succinctly hit back, asking the troll: Would you have the same opinion if it were a man & a woman kissing? How sad that a 10 year old had to learn that relationships can come in many varieties from television. (sic)

Daniel was fiercely supported by his co-stars, with Kate Ford (Tracy Barlow) taking to Twitter to respond: Its simple really. I would tell your ten year old its because they are in love. I told my son this when he was 3 years old. Its all good, dont stress yourself (sic).
