Female plane passengers were forced to step in after overhearing an adult man asking a teenage girl for a dirty photo.
Canadian reporter Joanna Chiu was on a flight from Toronto to Vancouver when she witnessed the passenger behind her – believed to be in his late thirties – harass a young girl, who was seated separately from her family.
Chiu, who was planning to sleep for the five hour flight, became alert after noticing the behaviour of the man, who had complained about his seat, change as the teenager sat down next to him.
She started listening to the conversation and rage-whispered what she thought of the situation as he leaned in close and asked the girl for a dirty picture.

Chiu shared the horrifying account on Twitter and said: A man appearing in his late thirties was obviously delighted to be seated next to a teenager separated from the rest of her family…

She was friendly and he seemed to take that as a welcome cue to get very familiar and started teasing her and kept saying that he wanted to take her out to eat, which she ignored.
At this point I had to stay awake in case anything went further than that.
She added: It did, and as soon as he asked for a “dirty” photo while leaning close to her I turned around and rage-whispered exactly what I thought of that and he didnt say anything back and went off to use washroom.
Chiu said the woman seated on the row behind the man and the teenager was also monitoring and told the girl she had the right to change seats and that she was just behind her if she needed any help.
Chiu went to get a flight attendant to inform her of what was going on.
She continued: They checked other witness accounts and the head of flight service (a woman) asked the man to move.
He resisted swearing at me and asked to talk to the boss and the head flight attendant said: “Im the boss, this is really serious and we could land the plane”.
Chiu said the man eventually moved and staff wrote up a report.
Airport security was ready to pull the man aside as they landed and Chiu said he looked like he was sweating bullets.
