What is Apple TV+ and what shows will be available?

Apple is aiming to rival the likes of Netflix and Amazon in the streaming market after it unveiled its newest service Apple TV+.

The company is set to shift from products to content when the service launches later this year, revealing its plans to make original, quality TV shows, films and documentaries.

Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon are just some of the big names involved.

But just what is Apple TV+ and what will viewers be able to watch on it?

What is Apple+ TV and when is it launching?

Apple+TV will be a paid for streaming service similar to Netflix and Amazon, offering original content to its viewers.

Like Netflix, it will allow users to download TV episodes and movies for watching offline.

What shows will the service feature?

A whole bunch of original shows and films are set to make their debut on Apple TV+ when the service launches.

Among those already announced are a reboot of Steven Spielbergs Amazing Stories from Amblin Entertainment.

Oprah Winfrey is also on board, making a series of documentaries focusing on mental health.

Meanwhile Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston will appear on The Morning Show, set in the world of morning TV.

And Aquaman and Game Of Thrones star Jason Momoa will also star in the new fantasy series See, a futuristic drama in which he plays a blind warrior.

Octavia Spencer and JJ Abrams are also involved with new projects for the service.
