A husband sent sexual photos of his estranged wife to her boss, who is a male state lawmaker, police said.
William Sims, 23, was charged with crimes related to revenge porn on Wednesday in Washington, DC. Police have not released the identity of the lawmaker, who received the illicit photos from a female intern on January 17, 2018 during the Virginia General Assembly session.
Authorities say the pictures were sent by Sims using his wifes email account, which he reportedly had access to.
Sims was already in custody in Virginia Beach on unrelated DUI charges when police learned that he was wanted in the nations capital on revenge porn charges, including unlawful dissemination or sales of images of another, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
The images were sent using the victims email, and they purported to have been sent by her, the Capitol Police wrote in a release.

Authorities believe the emails, which also included sexually suggestive messages, were actually sent by Sims.

The criminal conduct not only disrupts the safety of the people in the workplace, but it destroys the reputation of the victims, Capitol Police Chief Anthony Pike said.
