Leading presidential candidates have come to the defence of one of the first Muslim women elected to Congress, after President Trump used a 9/11 video to attack her.
The president shared a video which included footage of her speaking and graphic images of the 9/11 terror attacks.
In the video, Omar is shown saying some people did something, in between footage of planes hitting the Twin Towers and people fleeing buildings.

While Republicans accused her of downplaying the attacks, Democrats and others have come to her defence saying the comments were taken out of context and accused the president of Islamophobia.
Presidential hopefuls Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren condemned the presidents remarks, with Senator Sanders calling the attacks on Omar disgusting and dangerous.

In the face of increasing attacks by Trump and media outlets, Omar said on Saturday that no one could threaten her unwavering love for America.
I did not run for Congress to be silent, Omar wrote on Twitter, less than a day after the president shared a video.
She thanked supporters for standing against an administration that ran on banning Muslims from this country.
