Looks like Daniel Craig wants to shake things up on the new James Bond film. The actor has reportedly asked Phoebe Waller-Bridge, creator of the acclaimed series Fleabag and Killing Eve, to bring her trademark humor to the franchise, enlisting her to tune up the films script.

According to The Guardian, “Sources close to the film in the U.S. said that while in the country, she discussed with Craig how to improve the script of Bond 25, which the 007 actor felt needed some polishing, by introducing more humor and the offbeat style of writing she is best known for.” We can only hope that at least a bit role in the film is soon to follow.

The new Bond pic, which so far remains untitled, has had a bit of a rough start. Last September, True Detective alum Cary Fukunaga took over as director after original helmer Danny Boyle stepped away amid reports of clashes with producers and Craig over the films script and casting decisions. In a recent interview, Boyle described his exit as “a great shame.”

“What [screenwriter] John [Hodge] and I were doing, I thought, was really good,” Boyle added. “It wasnt finished, but it could have been really good.” Hodge and Boyle left the production at the same time. Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who have written multiple Bond films before, stepped in to take over screenwriting duties, with Bourne Ultimatum writer Scott Z. Burns also joining to work on the script before Waller-Bridge was commissioned, The Guardian reports. Production, meanwhile, has been delayed multiple times; according to The Guardian, filming has still not begun, though the film is still expected to be released in April 2020.

This is expected to be Craigs last Bond movie, which means that even once this script is sorted out, the powers that be in the Bond universe will have an even bigger task before them after its release: finding his replacement. Perhaps in addition to her writing contributions, Waller-Bridge could stage a full franchise takeover. You know, assuming obvious pick Idris Elba doesnt want the job.
