Its going to be the most beautiful baby in the world, as Zosia Self (Camilla Arfwedson) revealed in tonights Holby City that the father of her baby is none other than Oliver Valentine. This is excellent news and is what a lot of fans wanted. Unfortunately, it doesnt look like Ollie will be joining Zosia at Holby any time soon, as at the end of the episode Zosias plan was to take some time off, have the baby and then go to New York to resume her glittering career.

All of this came to light because a seriously ill patient needed the piece of medical magic that could only be provided by Zosias experimental heart valve. She said she was still fine-tuning it, but Jac (Rosie Marcel) had decided they were going to go ahead, and what Jac wants, Jac gets. She sent Nicky (Belinda Owusu) to follow Zosia and make sure she was getting the valve ready.

On the way down the stairs Zosia fell, but told Nicky not to tell anyone. Later on (after the heart valve was deployed and was a success), Nicky thought Zosia was looking ill and told Jac about the fall. Zosia admitted that shed never had a scan, because she was scared the baby might have problems because of her bipolar drugs. She also said she was going to have the baby adopted and that it was Ollies baby.

Jac did a scan and found that the baby had a heart problem. This was sorted out by the wonderful Fleur Fanshawe (Debbie Chazen), who thoroughly enjoyed herself winding Jac up. Rather beautifully, Jac held Zosias hand during the procedure. She may have been a bit of a cow to Zosia recently, but shes really always supported her and watched out for her.

The fear that the baby might have come to harm made Zosia realise that she wanted to keep him (its a boy, Jac revealed). And as she left the hospital, she called Ollie.

AAU was once again busy with family issues. This time it was Zav (Marcus Griffiths)s mother Nanette (Suzette Llewellyn), back again as a patient. She had abdominal pains this time, but her mental health was also a concern as she flirted with Cameron (Nic Jackman), got stroppy with Donna (Jaye Jacobs) and at one point slapped her son. Cameron was being mentored by Zav for the day – Dunn and Duval, my favourite moody teen duo, said Serena (Catherine Russell) – and there was double the pressure on him having to treat Zavs mother. Donna helped him out by giving him a diagnostic clue. Once upon a time Cameron would have been happy to take all the credit for this, but he admitted Donna had helped him. Zav was still impressed with his work.

Although its clear that Nanettes mental illness is a serious problem, her lack of inhibition made for some very funny scenes. I love hospitals, she told Cameron. You can smell the drama! Cameron had a little sniff. I think thats macaroni cheese, he said. Funny as well as sexy, Nanette said. Bit inappropriate, muttered an embarrassed Cam.

There was another embarrassing mum on Keller. Carole Copeland (Julia Deakin) had brought her neighbour Roberta (Madison Clare) to the hospital when she became unwell. Roberta didnt seem to have anyone else so Carole insisted on staying with her to keep her company. Dominic (David Ames) has always been embarrassed when Carole was around while he was working – she keeps calling him Dazzle, for a start. Now, of course, he has more reason to feel awkward around her and its sad. He even called her Carole instead of Mum. She was heartbroken. Plenty of people call me Carole, but only one calls me Mum. Or used to, she told Ange (Dawn Steele).
