A man has been killed and his wife critically injured when they were attacked by their pet deer in rural Australia.
Paul McDonald, 46, was feeding the animal in its enclosure when it lunged at him.
His wife, Mandi McDonald, heard the commotion and went out to help when she was then attacked.
Her son hit the deer with a lump of wood and managed to drag her safety, ABC reports.
Police officers shot the deer before a paramedic treated the couple.
Mr McDonald couldnt be saved and he died from his injuries at the farm in Moyhu, while his wife was flown by helicopter to a hospital about 260km away in Melbourne.
