For several seasons now, little Lyanna Mormont, the leader of Bear Island, has been shaming her gruff, older, male counterparts on Game of Thrones. Lyanna, played with a perfect amount of scathing saltiness by young Bella Ramsey, has scorned the other Northern lords for “refusing the call” to battle. In this season, it would seem, Lady Mormont is more than ready to put her money where her mouth is, as we her see her suited up, for the first time, in some slick new armor in one of 14 new photos from Episode 2. She wont be the only Northern lady suiting up, either: Sophie Turner told Entertainment Weekly that she, too, will be getting some armor in this final season. Cant wait to see what the ever-stylish Lady Stark puts together for battle.
But dont expect a lot of action to go along with this new martial look for Lady Mormont. Not yet, anyway. Episode 2, written by co-executive producer Bryan Cogman, is being touted as a calm-before-the-storm episode, with all the players at Winterfell sorting through their differences before they band together to take on the Night King.
In these photos, we see Jaime Lannister, caught off guard last week by Bran Stark, standing before the Northern leaders and defending his right to fight alongside them. We also see the first of Gilly, who is cozied up with Sam and little Sam.
