EastEnders spoilers: Max Branning returns tonight with a big shock for Rainie

Max Branning (Jake Wood) makes his return to EastEnders tonight and has a huge bombshell to drop on Rainie (Tanya Franks).

Rainie is in the middle of a battle with Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) who has stolen all the cars from the car lot. He instructs Lola (Danielle Harold) to be his alibi in his bid to torment Tanya into giving in.

But shes ready to fight and he has no idea who hes taken on, and hes in for a shock when he visits her to gloat only for her to give him some unwelcome news.

Rainie is later shocked when she arrives home and finds Max waiting for her without saying a word about his return, and shes in for an even bigger surprise – he tells her wants them to be a proper couple and make a go of their marriage.

Plot twist. So hes gone from finding new love in France and treating Rainie like dirt to wanting to play Mr & Mrs? Surely hes up to something.
