British tourist dies swimming off the Costa del Sol

A British man has died this afternoon after losing consciousness while out swimming off a resort on the Costa del Sol in Spain.
The 51-year-old was seen chest high in the water by witnesses and appeared to be waving his arms in distress.
He was helped onto Carvajal beach but was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts from paramedics to save him using CPR.
People visiting the resort of Fuengirola called emergency services when they saw the man struggling out at sea, reports the Sun.

Spanish police are investigating the death but a source said there was nothing to suggest it was suspicious.
