A three year-old girl was gravely injured after a gardener drove over her with a ride-on lawnmower while drunk, police say.
Tanner Miller 23, reportedly struck the child with the mower outside a house in Hawkeye, Iowa, on Wednesday evening.
Her injuries were so severe that she was airlifted to the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, for specialist treatment.
The toddlers relationship to Miller has not been outlined, and sheriffs deputies have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Cops believe Miller reversed over the toddler while intoxicated, and having now charged him with operating while intoxicated.
In a photo shared by Fayette County Sheriffs Office, a red ride-on mower can be seen in a garden outside the house where the horrific accident happened.
