An Irish family, whose son has been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, face being deported from Australia in 8 days, despite living in the country for 10 years.

Anthony and Christine Hyde, from Dublin, migrated in 2009 and are living in the town of Seymour, Victoria, along with son Darragh, three, who was born in Australia.

The familys application for permanent residency was rejected in 2015 following their sons diagnosis.

His potential treatment was judged to be too burdensome on the taxpayer.

The couple appealed the decision and their case was put before the Administrative Review Tribunal in May.

The tribunal found that their case met the requirements for ministerial intervention.

However, with only eight days to go until they face deportation, the countrys Home Affairs minister Peter Dutton is yet to take up the familys case.
