Gary Windass (Mikey North) is about to face a fight for his life as he and Rick Neelan (Greg Wood) end up in a battle to the death in Coronation Street. Fans are worried that Gary will die as Rick has laid a murderous trap to kill his enemy once and for all. But new pictures showing Mikey filming scenes for later this summer can put those fears to rest.
The shows new villain is forced to go all out and try and save Sarah Platt (Tina OBrien) from Ricks clutches – not realising that he has actually been fooled. As Rick ambushes him in the woods and has prepared a shallow grave for him, things look bleak for Gary.
But Gary will live to scheme another day – and it looks like he has taken on Ricks role as a loan shark, terrifying people for money. Working with Ricks former accomplice Sharon, Gary is seen getting heavy with a man who owes him.
And his villainous side is well and truly out in force – but how far is Gary prepared to go? And what has he done to Rick?
With Sarah in a romance with Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), Gary is in a state of mind where he has nothing else to lose and as the stakes are raised in his battle with Rick, we will see Gary become more and more ruthless.
He is still hiding the secret that he is the one who killed Rana by sabotaging the factory roof – an act that was never meant to end in death but has landed him in the position he now finds himself in.
Corrie are now selling him as their next major villain – although they were keen to point out that he does still have his heart and morals somewhere; this isnt going to be Pat Phelan mark two.
Saying that, judging by the absence of Rick, the fact that Gary is alive and the pictures of him doing what Rick used to do, it does seem to fuel speculation that he is capable of killing again.
