Shocking videos captured the moment hundreds ran for their lives as two people were shot near an NBA victory rally.

Police were called after shots were fired at the rally for the Toronto Raptors.

Two people were found seriously wounded.

Prime minister Justin Trudeau, Torontos mayor and the Raptors players remained on stage while the ceremony was interrupted as crowds fled.

The shots were fired near Nathan Phillips Square, the parades final destination, causing a chaotic scene toward the back of the huge crowd.

However, the incident caused only a brief pause in the celebratory speeches, which were still going on.

Asked if it was a targeted shooting or terrorism-related, Toronto police spokeswoman Allison Sparkes said the investigation was under way.
