Stunning moment cops rescue crying newborn girl from plastic bag dumped in woods
This is the incredible moment police rescued a crying newborn girl from a plastic bag dumped in the woods.
Forsyth County Sheriffs Office in Georgia released breathtaking bodycam footage of an officer cutting the abandoned infant – whose umbilical cord was still attached – out of a plastic bag left in the Georgia woodland.
Footage shows the officer rushing to get his gloves on before tearing open the bag as the baby inside can be heard wailing.
A resident with the officer tells him that he heard the newborn crying from his home nearby.
As the deputy opens the bag with a pop, the baby appears to get startled and starts crying. The officer comforts her saying: Oh Im sorry. Im so sorry…oh look how precious you are.
After removing the newborn from the bag, rescue workers cut off what appears to be an umbilical cord, then swaddle her in a blanket.
The girl has been temporarily named India and was placed into the care of the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services, according to WGXA.
