Coronation Street spoilers: Nick Tilsley commits a shocking betrayal against David Platt

Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) is determined to evade justice for his role in stealing Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) money but after David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) steps in to protect him during an attack in prison, he has a change of heart in Coronation Street. As Nick decides that its time he came clean that he was the one responsible, David retracts the comments he made to Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo) about the factory collapse.

But its Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) who persuades Nick that he is better off sticking to the original story so that she and Oliver can have him home. So as the pair stand up in court, Nick blurts out that the full blame is Davids – leaving his sibling to take the fall for a crime he committed.

Ben Price shared: Suddenly it becomes real that he might go away for a long time and the life that he is trying so hard to build up again could go. He starts to think if he keeps quiet there is a chance he could get away with it.His brother has been inside and done all that so he thinks that David wont mind so much!

It is a snap decision in the moment. He is standing up there in court and he feels this is all a bit more real now. He is scared it is going to backfire on him. He is absolutely panicked, it is not a comfortable situation for Nick. He was fine dealing with the police before, he was confident that he was smart and he could worm his way out but now its been presented in court and he doesnt think Paula is quite up to it. He feels it is up to him to sort it out.
