The Bachelorette: Jed Wyatt Opens Up About Cheating Rumors After Nightmare Hometown

This post contains spoilers for The Bachelorette season 15, episode nine.

You can tell a lot about a person from visiting their hometown, especially if you take Bachelorette Hannah Browns approach: surreptitiously rifling through your lovers possessions while theyre not looking.

In fairness we should probably clarify that our Alabaman single lady did this only once during her hometown-visits week—but she did manage to find a condom while rummaging through the console of pilot Peter Webers car while he was driving. So from that, we can deduce…hes had sex before, possibly in his car. Good information ahead of fantasy suites next week, right?

But sadly it seems this curiosity did not extend into all of Hannahs dates—two of which raised questions that went unanswered for viewers back home. Chief among them: why, precisely, does Jed Wyatts family clearly not want Hannah to be with him? But also: what demented Christian spirit possessed Luke Parker to think that dragging his ladylove to Sunday school would make for a good hometown date?

In Jeds case, at least, off-screen rumors might provide an answer—and conveniently enough, the anthropomorphic pompadour recently sounded off on just those rumors.

Jed, as avid Bachelorette fans know, is one of two contestants this season who allegedly abandoned their girlfriends back home in order to join the show. Hes also admitted to Hannah that he initially came on the show to boost his career, before subsequently falling for her, yada yada.

Sadly Jed left out the fact that he was allegedly dating a fellow musician. Haley Stevens claims Jed took her on a vacation to the Bahamas after hed been cast on The Bachelorette, swearing he viewed the show solely as a career opportunity before telling her he loved her for the first time. But after filming wrapped, Stevens said, Jed never called her—even when he had returned to Tennessee. When she confronted Jed, Stevens claims he told her he “didnt know what to say.” Later on it was revealed that Jed might have cheated on Stevens even before boarding his plane to California.

Jed has not commented on the rumors until now. In an Instagram post Monday, he wrote, “Several of you have reached out with messages and questions. Please know Im not able to answer right now, but as soon as Im able to, I will. Until then, I ask that you please understand how much the actions being taken towards myself, my family, the men on the show, and above all, Hannah, are affecting all of our mental and physical health.”
