EastEnders star Lacey Turner has given birth to her first child – a girl – with husband Matt Kay.

According to OK! Magazine the actress – who plays the soaps Stacey Fowler – welcomed the new arrival on Friday, with the couple said to be over the moon and filled with joy at the birth.

Lacey, who married Matt in Ibiza in 2017, had previously fallen pregnant twice before but tragically both ended in miscarriage.

Speaking to OK! in February as she announced the happy news she said: I cant wait to nurture our baby – weve dreamed of having a family for so long.

While Lacey may be getting to grips with motherhood, shes still on screens as Stacey Fowler – but you can expect her to be absent for a while while the actress is on maternity leave.

No exact date has been given for Staceys departure but you can expect to see her take a break from Walford some time this summer.

Her departure will come at the end of a difficult few months for the character, who has had to come to terms with her mother Jean (Gillian Wright)s cancer diagnosis.

She also had to deal with the return of her long-lost brother Sean (Rob Kazinsky), who was struggling with his mental health, and was pulled back from the brink of suicide by his family.

Why does Stacey Fowler leave EastEnders?

Staceys exit storyline has yet to be confirmed but its likely it will have something to do with her discovering that her best friend Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) has been having an affair with Max Branning (Jake Wood).

That story is set to play out over the summer, with the pair becoming close after Max offers to help Ruby with her business plans – with the romantic sparks soon flying.
