Its been a difficult time for Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) in EastEnders – and things arent about to get any easier in this weeks episodes.

The ex-copper has been helping Tiffany (Maisie Smith) all he can in the aftermath of her rape ordeal – but having taken matters into his own hands over her ordeal it seems his actions are now about to come back to haunt him.

So just who did he attack – and are we seeing the final days of Jack in the Square?

Heres what we know…

Who did Jack Branning attack in EastEnders?

Jack attacked Fraser Shelton (Shanu Hazzan), a member of the gang Tiffany became involved in earlier this year.

She fell in with them after she an away from home, convinced no-one in Walford wanted her around – and was groomed into joining them by evil Evie Steele (Sophia Capasso).

Tiffany recently confided to Jack that she was assaulted by Fraser during this time – and later confronted him and threatened to report him to the police if he didnt leave Walford.

Despite her urging Jack not to take further action against Fraser, he took matters into his own hands and began following him – before the pair came face-to-face, resulting in Fraser threatening Jack with a knife and stabbed him in the arm, before threatening to come back for his daughter Amy when she was older.

All of which proved too much for jack who turned the tables and attacked him, beating him to the ground.

The consequences of his actions will make themselves known on Monday night after finding out from his old cop pal Muski that he is being implicated in a crime – and hell have to decide what to do next.

At the moment theres been no confirmation that Scott Maslen might be about to leave EastEnders or that we could be bidding farewell to Jack.

However he is going to be left with a bit of a dilemma when it comes to what he does next.

He tries to get an alibi from Denise (Diane Parish) – who is initially reluctant to do so, but ends up ending her relationship with him because he cant open up to her about where he was in the night in question.

Another course of action presents itself to him when Max (Jake Wood) overhears him telling Tiffany what he did – and promptly suggests he might be better off going into hiding instead.
