The college admissions scandal involving Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin is set to become a Lifetime TV movie.

The scandal has seen a number of wealthy parents stand accused of spending millions in bribes and committing fraud to secure their children places at prominent US universities.

Actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin are among the high profile names facing charges, with the former pleading guilty back in May to a charge of conspiracy to commit mail fraud.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lifetime announced a movie based around the scandals events will be aired in the autumn.

A description for the movie reads: College Admissions Scandal will follow two wealthy mothers who share an obsession with getting their teenagers into the best possible college.

When charismatic college admissions consultant Rick Singer offers a side door into the prestigious institutions of their dreams, they willingly partake with visions of coveted acceptance letters in their heads.

Its unclear if the two wealthy mothers described will be based on Felicity and Lori, but its likely the pair will be referenced in some capacity.
