Amber Gill was crowned the queen of Love Island this year, but it turns out she was actually meant to appear on the show in 2018.

We know. Our minds are blown too.

The beauty therapist, 22, admitted she was asked to go on the dating show last year but had a boyfriend at the time.

She told fans in an Instagram Q&A: I didnt actually apply to go in the villa I got asked by Instagram.

Amber went on: I did actually get asked the year before but I had a boyfriend – but lets not talk about it.

Ended badly, did it? We bet hes kicking himself now.

The Geordie star continued that this year she thought, why the hell not, lets try it, and look whats only gone and happened?!

Not only did Amber nab the £50,000 cash prize with partner Greg OShea, but she recently landed a panellist spot on Loose Women too.

The Newcastle native promises to be the sassy queen we fell in love with on Love Island on the chat show, and wont hold back with her opinions.

Amber has had the TV offers flooding in since leaving Mallorca, including a rumoured spot on Dancing On Ice in 2010.

The Dancing On Ice casting team are delighted with the decision to snap up Amber, a source told The Sun.

The insider added: Love Island contestants always do really well on the series as they are still fresh in everyones minds.
