Viewers were left distinctly uncomfortable while watching the second episode of the Jade Goody documentary, Jade: The Reality Star Who Changed Britain.

The latest installment focused on her Celebrity Big Brother stint in 2007, which saw her, Danielle Lloyd and S Clubs Jo OMeara get accused of racism against Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.

Shocking clips of Jade – who died from cervical cancer aged 27 in 2009 – were aired, including when she referred to Shilpa as Shilpa Papadum and laughed at her for bleaching her facial hair.

What started as a reality show row turned into a global backlash against racism and spelled Jades downfall from the limelight.

Viewers at home were horrified that the upsetting scenes were shown, and took to Twitter to share their discomfort.

This is an uncomfortable watch a second time round. Im not convinced she was ever racist, uneducated an ill informed & used by the media. Reality TV has got a lot to answer for, one user wrote.

Another added: Watching the #JadeGoody story is so sad and how different things were in 2007 it was so uncomfortable to watch again and handled really badly by channel 4 at the time. Its such a sad story if only she was here today.

The three-part documentary takes a look back at Jades difficult upbringing with parents who used drugs, as well as her life before Big Brother, before then documenting how people began to turn against her following CBBs racism row.

Jades appearance on the show soured, due to her treatment of Shilpa.

She left the CBB house with no crowds or cameras but with no idea why – she was then interviewed by Davina McCall, who revealed that her behaviour had reverberated around the globe.
