Dame Barbara Windsor greeted Boris Johnson with a kiss on the cheek today as she made a pilgrimage to Number 10 today.

The EastEnders legend was making her mark at the HQ of the Prime Minister today alongside husband Scott Mitchell to implore the fresh leader to do more to help dementia sufferers.

On behalf of the Alzheimers Society she wanted to call for politicians to fix the social care crisis.

Barbara, 82, was diagnosed with Alzheimers, a progressive form of dementia, in 2014 and has rarely made public appearances since the news was revealed.

The Peggy Mitchell actress revealed earlier this week she will hand an open letter to Boris in which she calls for more funds to be assigned to support other sufferers of the condition.

Barbaras meeting with the PM seemed to go down without a hitch, as the two joked and conversed over a cup of tea in his backyard.

Holding his hand, Babs appeared to be in great spirits as she hoped to make a change ahead of Wednesdays Spending Review.

As they wrapped their meeting, its reported Babs asked the PM: Can I have a kiss? to which he replied: Of course you can.

In a clip released earlier today for the Alzheimers Society Babs said: Thank you all so much for your support in signing the letter to our new Prime Minister.

It means so much to me. Lets make this happen and fix dementia care.

Husband Scott Mitchell, 56, added: We are so proud to be delivering this letter from the Alzheimers Society and all the tens of thousands of people who signed it.

I genuinely feel for the people that have to give up their jobs and sell their homes, selling their parents homes that they have worked all their lives for. And you do wonder, how did we get here?
