The Great British Bake Off claimed its second victim last night, as cheeky 20-year-old Jamie Finn was eliminated following his performance in Biscuit Week.

The hapless baker won around fans and penned a letter to thanks them for their support, amongst outrage that he was booted off the show in week two.

Part-time waiter Jamie charmed viewers with his charisma, despite his baking talents not measuring up with his competitors in the tent.

Its fair to say that people were quite upset at Jamies eviction last night, and to placate outrage, the official Great British Bake Off Twitter account posted a heart-warming, hand-written message from the student himself.

Thank you so much for all the messages Ive been sent and for the love I have received, Jamie wrote. Im overwhelmed by the support Ive been given on social media which I really wasnt expecting and it has made my Bake Off experience even better!

I feel so lucky to have been given the opportunity of a lifetime to bake in the big white tent and its an experience I will never forget! My entire Bake Off journey, from writing my application to hugging everybody goodbye has just been insane and I will be forever grateful for it!

Biscuit Week would be the Surrey natives swansong. The contestants were tasked with making a chocolate-coated biscuit bar, a technical challenge of fig rolls and finally a showstopper with a biscuit sculpture.

Unfortunately, Jamies showstopper challenge started to crumble in the oven, which eventually sealed his fate.

Although fans became incensed at the students elimination, many were probably still surprised that he survived week one of the competition, where he forgot to put eggs into one of his creations. He controversially survived whereas Dan Chambers was the surprise exit in the first episode.

I definitely deserved to go when I did, he continued in his letter. It wouldnt have been fair for any of the other bakersRead More – Source
