Motsi Mabuse has become the latest star to come out in support of same-sex couples competing on the Strictly Come Dancing, one week after BBC bosses revealed they were completely open to seeing these new partnerships in future series.

Ahead of her debut as a new judge on Saturday nights launch show, South African dancer Motsi revealed that the UK was actually behind other countries when it came to same-sex dancing on the Strictly franchise.

Strictly is probably aware of the changes that are happening socially, the 38-year-old told Gay Times.

Speaking about her experience as a judge on Lets Dance in Germany, she continued: In Germany, weve completely gone that way. Weve had two ladies dance together.

The ratings proved the point that sometimes, if you risk something, it pays off. It might go wrong – but at least you tried. The worst thing you can do is stay on the same spot.
