Simon Cowell and MerseyGirls star Julia Carliles reunion on Britains Got Talent: The Champions was up there as one of the most heart-warming moments in the shows 13 year history.

Last night, the music mogul and the young dancer came face to face for the first time since Simon paid £175,000 for a life-changing spinal surgery which ultimately saved Julias career.

The teen auditioned for the father-of-one back in 2017, revealing that she was about to undergo an operation to fix her spine which would mean shed never dancer again with Britains Got Talent being the final opportunity to show the world what shes got.

Or so she thought.

After the 2017 Britains Got Talent finale, Simon flew Julia out to America where she underwent an operation and after a year of recovery the fearless performer was backflipping.

Showing him what Ive done was incredible because he has actually changed my life, Julia exclusively told Metro.co.uk.

Our dance is basically a massive thank you to Simon and I just wanted to show him how well we worked and what we can do.

I didnt want Simon to think Id got worse so it was a lot of pressure but I stretched every day just to get back to where I was, she continued. So to show him what Id done was scary but it went really well. I was just so nervous that hed think Id got worse!

Obviously, Julia and her group came back tighter than ever.

Its one persons strength and beyond that its the friendship and support of which we saw the first time we met you, he told the collective. The fact you are still together and you came back, tonight… it was everything.
