Lisa Kudrow struggled with playing her ditzy Friends character Phoebe in the shows early years.

Lisa, 56, said that she couldnt connect with the part in the first three seasons, even though she had played similar roles before.

But it took a quick – and sweary – pep talk from co-star Matt Le Blanc to get her back on track.

Appearing on the YouTube series hiking with Kevin, she said: I had played dumb girls for sure, but it wasnt really me. I feel like, s**t I tricked them.

At the audition I feel I was the only one who could cope with the audition process and thats how I got it I think.

I had to work hard at being Phoebe, then third season in I was struggling so much. And Le Blanc was like, “Whats going on with you?” and I was like, “I dont think I have it. I dont know what Im doing”.

He said “Youre her, relax, you got it, youve been doing this f*****g character for three years. Youre working too hard, thats your problem. You dont need to work as hard.”
