Game of Thrones has already won 10 Creative Arts Emmys for its final season, despite fans being so gutted with it that almost 2 million of them signed a petition calling for the series to be rewritten.
After a coffee cup and some questionable writing tarnished the shows legacy for good, D.B Weiss and David Benioff went into hiding, refusing to address the Game of Thrones backlash. Regardless, theyre laughing anyway because the biggest disappointment in television has won 10 Emmy Awards, including one for episode The Long Night – the instalment so dark fans couldnt actually see what was going on.
The main ceremony takes place this Sunday September 22 where the fantasy epic will almost certainly add another handful of trophies to its collection after racking up a record-breaking 32 nominations, including nods for Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) for best lead actor and actress respectively, while most of the ensemble have been recognised in the supporting categories – even if some of them had to submit themselves for the honour.

Sky and HBOs triumph Chernobyl, which immediately became the highest-rated series on IMDB after its release this year, also swept up with seven wins. The drama which followed the real-life 1986 disaster is also expected to pick up more come Sunday.
