When is Ellis Chapman leaving Emmerdale after actor Asan NJie was sacked?

Emmerdales Ellis Chapman is back on our screens again despite actor Asan NJie being sacked from the soap for his heated altercation with Jamie Lomas at the TV Choice Awards.

However, for those of you wondering why Asan is still appearing on-screen as Ellis when he has been sacked, there is a simple explanation.

As is common practice with most soaps, Emmerdale shoots their episodes about six weeks ahead of when they are due to appear on television.

As a result, Asans scenes as Ellis and those relating to his romance with Belle Dingle will likely have already been shot.

Although its not been confirmed when Asans final scenes will air, it is thought that he will still appear on the soap for the next six weeks, after which the production team will either have to amend the plot to write the Ellis out of the soap or possibly recast the role with a new actor in order to keep the character in the storyline.

Ellis existing scenes will therefore air as planned until then.

ITV bosses announced that Asan NJies contract had been terminated with immediate effect on Wednesday 11 September following his actions at the TV Choice Awards.

Following the incident at the awards show, Asan published a full apology saying: My behaviour at the TV Choice Awards was completely unacceptable and very much out of character.
