Life in suburban Chester is rarely serene for the residents of Hollyoaks, with more departures on the way across the rest of the year and into 2020.

From political indoctrination to the perils of romantic jealousy, few characters are safe from one week to the next in the compelling, long-running drama.

Keeping score of how many characters are left can be tricky, which is why weve compiled a list of the departees we know are on the way.

Read on to find out if any of your favourite figures might be leaving…

Stuart Sumner (Chris Simmons) and Jonny Baxter (Ray Quinn)

Stuart and Jonny are the ringleaders of a far-right group that is ensnaring many of the soaps characters, and this week their most sinister plan yet is set to be revealed.

They have spent months manipulating the likes of Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) in a plot that will have disastrous consequences.

The storyline has been developed alongside Love Music Hate Racism as part of a number of week-long specials.

Chart-toppers including Rita Ora and Stormzy have contributed to the accompanying soundtrack.

Exit date: Late 2019

Breda McQueen (Moya Brady)

The mother and nanny is a multiple murderer, having killed eight people and attempted to polish off a further six since 1986.

This year alone she has killed three people, starting with the murder of Louis Loveday (Karl Collins) in January.

She proceeded to poison Mac Nightingale (David Easter) in March before waiting a full four months to stab Harry Thompson (Parry Glasspool) to death in July.

Hollyoaks writers are planning to wrap up the murder storyline in the near future – much to the relief of anyone with an interest in the safety of its remaining characters.

Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin)

Nadine Mulkerrin will be taking a maternity break from the soap as she is expecting her first child later this year.

The 26-year-old is in a real-life relationship with former Hollyoaks love interest Rory Douglas-Speed, who plays Joel Dexter in a pairing that has survived a motorbike crash, kidnapping and pregnancy.

Mulkerrin was nominated for Best Female Dramatic Performance last year, rewarding her moving performances as heartbreaking year as Cleo McQueen.
