NEW DELHI: The flying licences of two Pawan Hans pilots have been suspended for three months each for landing a chopper without extending the landing gear. This incident happened on July 7, 2019, when a check flight was in process at Guwahati with the captain performing the check on the co-pilot. The chopper in use was a Dauphin N3 (VT-PHO).
“During landing, the helicopter landing gear was not extended. Due to this, its belly touched runway surface and the chopper was damaged… Thereby compromising safety of the aircraft and its occupants,” says the order issued by Directorate General of Civil Aviation joint DG B S Rai on Wednesday.
