PM calls tax cut historic, win-win for all Indians

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday termed the governments decision to slash corporate tax rates as a “historic step” and a “win-win” situation for all Indians while BJP president and home minister Amit Shah said it reflects the governments commitment to make India a manufacturing hub.
“The step to cut corporate tax is historic. It will give a great stimulus to #MakeIn-India, attract private investment from across the globe, improve competitiveness of our private sector, create more jobs and result in a win-win for 130 crore Indians,” the PM said in a tweet.

Modi stressed the recent announcements show that the government is “leaving no stone unturned” to make India more business-friendly and achieve a $5 trillion economy in the next few years.
“The (recent) announcements demonstrate that our government is leaving no stone unturned to make India a better place to do business, improve opportunities for all sections of society and increase prosperity to make it a $5 trillion economy,” he said.
Amit Shah said the Modi government is committed to making India a manufacturing hub and slashing corporate tax rates would make the countrys markets “much more exciting” for potential investors. Shah also said “rationalisation” of corporate tax had been a long-pending demand that has now become a reality.
“Modi government is committed to make India a big manufacturing hub and this decision along with previous announcements on relaxing FDI will go a long way in realising this objective,” the BJP chief tweeted.
