Game Of Thrones was expected to sweep the board at the Emmys this year, but out of 32 nominations the HBO series only took home two awards.
It had been given over 30 nods in seven different categories, with a whole host of the shows stars, including Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke and Sophie Turner, receiving nominations for its eighth and final series that aired for the last time in May.
On the night, it was Peter Dinklage who came out on top as the actor, who plays Tyrion Lannister in Game Of Thrones, picked up his fourth Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
Accepting his gong, Peter said in his winners speech: I count myself so fortunate to be a member of a community that is all about tolerance and diversity, because nowhere else could I be standing on a stage like this.
Reflecting on his time on the show, he continued: Its been about 10 years, all said and done, from the moment I met [series creators] David [Benoiff] and Dan [Weiss] till now. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but I knew that David and Dan were quite brilliant.

We did nothing but sweat, we did nothing but laugh. Dave and Dan, we literally walked through fire and ice for you—literally—and I would do it all again in a heartbeat.
Game Of Thrones also picked up the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series, with Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke narrowly missing out on Lead Actor in A Drama Series and Lead Actress respectively.

Sophie Turner, who enjoyed a cute reunion with Kit inside the Microsoft Theatre in LA, and Maisie Williams were also nominated for their supporting roles.
Game Of Thrones, meanwhile, took home 10 awards at the Creative Arts Emmys last week, including a gong for Outstanding Special Visual Effects, Outstanding Main Title Design and Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series.
