SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir police have identified three terrorists — one of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and two belonging to Hizbul Mujahideen — responsible for the gunning down of three non-locals on October 15 this year.
While Sethi Kumar Sagar, a brick-kiln labourer from Chhattisgarh, was shot dead in Pulwama, Charanjeet Popli, a fruit-loader from Punjab, and Shareif Khan, a truck driver from Rajasthan, were gunned down in Shopian.
The three terrorists responsible for these killings were Salman Bhai alias Salman Afghani, 28, of LeT and Naveed Mushtaq, 31, and Rahil Magray, 26, of Hizb, state director general of police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh said on Saturday.
Salman, a Pakistani terrorist, was getting help from Naveed and Rahil, who were locals from Shopian. Salman, a new commander of LeT, had infiltrated into this side of Kashmir from Pakistan only recently, he added.
