CHANDIGARH: In a sudden turn of events in Haryanas politics, state's main political party BJP, which failed to get requisite number of seats in the recently concluded state assembly polls, have decided to form government along with Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) led by Dushyant Chautala.
BJP could get only 40 seats in the 90-member Haryana assembly and was short of six MLAs to form the government. JJP, which has emerged as largest regional party with 10 MLAs may ensure a stable coalition government. As per the agreement between BJP and JJP, the chief minister would be from BJP and JJP would get the post of deputy CM.
The oath ceremony would of the new state government would be held after Diwali.
“Considering the mandate given by the people of Haryana, it has been decided that both BJP and JJP should form government in Haryana. While BJP would retain CMs post, the deputy chief minister would be from JJP,” said BJP national president Amit Shah in his brief address to media while announcing about the alliance.
