NEW DELHI: Sanjay Raut's knack for poetry backfired when in a dramatic twist on Saturday morning BJP formed government in Maharashtra along with the support of the NCP leader Ajit Pawar who, until last night, was expected to support Shiv Sena.
Exactly an hour before the oath-taking ceremony, the Shiv Sena leader tweeted in Hindi — "Jiss jiss per ye jag hasa hai, ussi ne itihaas racha hai (The laughing stocks are the ones who create history)."

It appears that even Raut was not aware of the latest political development in the state, at least an hour before the oath-taking ceremony.
Within hours of the oath-taking ceremony, the Shiv Sena leader addressed a press conference where he accused Ajit Pawar of backstabbing the people Maharashtra.
"Paap ke saudagar," Raut tweeted after concluding the press conference.

Raut in the last one month of political upheaval in the state has become popular for his poetic style of politics. He has emerged as the Senas No. 2, next only to Uddhav Thackeray, in the partys post-BJP phase. He is the Senas knight in shining armour, penning editorials for Saamna, the Sena mouthpiece, and planning strategies for Thackeray.
