We are followers of Gandhi, not Godse: Congress to Pragya Singh Thakur

BHOPAL: Replying to MP Pragya Singh Thakurs challenge to visit the residence of Congress MLA Govandhan Dangi on December 8 at 4 pm, state PCC on Saturday said, “Pragya Singh Thakur will be treated as according to the nature of her visit to Biaora.” The legislator who threatened to set her ablaze Govardhan Dangi seemed defensive on Saturday but the state Congress was still unforgiving for Pragya Thakurs statement on Nathuram Godse.
Soon after Pragya Singh Thakur attacked the Congress over Twitter on Saturday, with allegations of Sikh riots of 1984 and the burning of Naina Sahni in a tandoor – MLA Govardhan Dangi told reporters, “The MP will be welcomed in Biaora. But it hurts when profane language is used to insult Mahatma Gandhi and eulogize his assassin. Congress believes in harmony and peace. We protest and condemn her words used for Nathuram Godse peacefully.”
But state Congress replied to her tweet in strong words. State PCC spokesman and chief minister Kamal Naths media convener Narendra Saluja tweeted, “Sadhvi Pragya Thakurji, we Congressmen are worshippers of non-violence and followers of Mahatma Gandhi, not Nathuram Godse. We have no love for violence, we believe in non-violence. The country knows about the violent nature of its leaders.”
State PCC spokesman Durgesh Sharma said, “Pragya Singh Thakur has levelled certain accusations against the Congress party on twitter. The kind of accusations she is levelling and the language she has used is not the culture of the Congress party. This country knows that the ideology she follows is of those who spied for the British against freedom fighters. She follows the ideology and tradition that this nation witnessed in 2002 in Godhra. And she is an accused in the Malegaon blasts case.”
