BBC BREAKFAST was back this morning with Naga Munchetty and Jon Kay at the helm to give viewers the latest news stories from across the UK and the world. However, Naga nearly suffered a huge on-screen blunder, leaving viewers very distracted.

BBC Breakfast airs every day on the broadcaster, with all the most important news stories of the day plus a range of guests to be grilled by the hosts. Naga Munchetty and Jon Kay were on hand to present Saturday mornings edition, however, as the duo were set to give the 8am headlines, Naga nearly missed her cue in a hilarious blunder which saw her forced rush onto set.

Naga Munchetty regularly presents the show throughout the week and for todays show, she was joined by Jon.

The pair gave viewers the lowdown of this mornings news but when the cameras started rolling for the 8am headlines, something else got viewers talking.

Jon was ready and waiting on the sofas but Naga Munchetty was seen running onto set after nearly missing her cue.

The pair didnt address the blunder on-screen but Jon struggled to hold in a laugh after Nagas smooth entrance this morning as the pair got on with delivering todays stories.

As always, the blunder didnt go amiss by fans and they flocked to Twitter to comment on what they had just seen.

One viewer joked: “Well impressed that you could run in them heels @BBCNaga!”

Wow. @BBCNaga pushed it a bit close there. #BBCBreakfast,” added another.

“And smooth entrance of the morning goes to @BBCNaga #BBCBreakfast,” wrote a third.

Another said: “@BBCNaga so funny running back to your seat, and then keeping a straight face to run the opening announcements, love it.”

“#NagaMunchetty Haha bit late there was you,” commented a fifth.

“We saw you run onto the set @BBCNaga in time though well done,” echoed another viewer.

Another notable feature from today’s show was the appearance of World War Two veteran, Harry Billinge, who was interviewed by Naga on this day last year.

She asked viewers: “Were asking can you remember, of course, you can remember, Harry Billinge. He is the veteran we met a year ago today when this programme was marking the 75th-anniversary of D Day.

“That is, of course, the allied invasion of Nazi-occupied France,” with her co-host Jon adding: “You were there with him, werent you!”

Naga continued: “It was an amazingly emotional, moving and poignant and brilliant day.”

Jon explained how Harry was meant to be back in Normandy today to mark the occasion with more than 70 other veterans, where a new memorial would be unveiled.

However, due to the current coronavirus pandemic limiting travel to other countries, Harrys trip had to be cancelled but the pair explained how Harry was getting a surprise come his way.

Presenter Tim Muffett introduced a segment on Harrys achievements, later catching up with him at his home, where the veteran admitted hed been feeling “a bit sad” due to being on his own for the last couple of months.

Speaking of the event he was missing today, Harry said: “I am there in my mind. Thats one thing about me, Ive got a very good memory.”

Tim revealed: “We have got some images of the memorial, so we can show you,” before connecting him with Alan Neades, the son of a man who died in his arms during the war.

The pair were able to have a touching video-call with, discussing Alans late father, with Tim ending the segment by telling viewers the pair were “planning to stay in touch.”
