BEN SHEPHARD got himself into hot water with his Good Morning Britain co-host Charlotte Hawkins after breaking the social distancing two-metre rule, which left her horrified.

Ben Shephard was back on Good Morning Britain on Friday with co-host Charlotte Hawkins and the news mostly centred around Liverpool FCs massive Premier League win last night which saw thousands of fans celebrating and not adhering to the two-metre rule. However, as they discussed the news, Charlotte pointed out viewers were distracted by an item on Ben’s side of the desk – a bottle of Lynx deodorant.

Thousands of people flocked to Bournemouth beach yesterday and Dr Hilary Jones was on hand this morning to discuss how dangerous this could prove to be.

On the other side of the UK, Liverpool fans have been celebrating all night after the club finally won the Premier League cup after 30 years.

When Ben and Charlotte came back from a break to continue with the latest updates, the latter pointed out an unusual addition to the newsdesk.

Charlotte said: “The eagle-eyed viewers have noticed something on our desk, they probably think its yours Ben.”

Ben Shephard picked up a can of Lynx deodorant and explained the company had brought out a Marmite scent.

He said: “This is a bottle of Lynx, spotted by Dan, and theyve crossed Lynx Africa with Marmite.

“Its a double threat. I am not a Marmite fan and havent been a Lynx fan since I was a teenager. So see if you can resist.”

The host sprayed the Lynx right into his face and then walked towards his co-host and leaned over Charlotte so she could smell it.

Charlotte leaned back to avoid getting too close to the presenter as she slammed him for breaking social distancing rules to stop the spread of coronavirus.

She said: “You cant come too close! Social distancing remember? But yes I can smell it from here.”

Ben quickly sat back down without saying anything but fans on Twitter were furious with the host and quickly commented on the rule break.

One viewer said: “Your own staff can’t socially distance! @benshephard.

“He should broadcast from home if he can’t help himself. Address it, please. Children are watching! No wonder people think social distancing is over!”

Another said: “Wrong wrong wrong.”

“Sprayed in the face,” uttered another. “Then breaking social distancing all pre 730am… lad!”

“Seriously?” scolded a fourth. “People like that are why I’m terrified to stop working from home as a shielder.

“Forget themselves’ or just be thick. Face he’s not even addressed his error after 15 minutes says a lot too. Ffs.”

One more said: “Kids are watching this. Socially distance at work? I’m dreading going back to working in the office because of space invaders like you! #spaceinvader.”

It came after Dr Hilary Jones issued a stark warning regarding coronavirus insisting a second wave is likely.

Looking at images of thousands on Bournemouth beach, Dr Hilary explained: “I hate to be a killjoy, but I can understand the Liverpool reaction a lot more than I can understand people flocking to the beaches.

“Half a million people flocked to Dorset yesterday, and now they are thinking of closing the beaches because people are ill-disciplined.

“But, the virus doesnt recognise any of these celebrations and its still out there.”
