There’s no excuse to not firmly be on the Loyola bandwagon if your team is already out of March Madness.

Loyola and Sister Jean officially accomplished the unthinkable Saturday night when they routed Kansas State to punch a ticket to the Final Four.

This is why we love March Madness. A team of overlooked recruits is 80 minutes of great basketball away from a national championship.

We’re taught to believe that there’s always a select group of teams that will rule college basketball, and that’s actually true for the most part. Teams like Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, UNC and UCLA will always be college basketball royalty.

However, we shouldn’t forget that overlooking teams is dangerously stupid, but also so much fun at the same time when they rise from the ashes. How could anybody forget Butler’s back-to-back national title game appearances? That was about as much electricity as you could ever hope for in basketball.

Now, the basketball gods have blessed us with the Loyola Ramblers and Sister Jean. God is literally on their side when they bring a nun to the games. Will Loyola beat Michigan? I don’t have a damn clue what will happen, but I know that I’ll be cheering for them like a school boy about to pick up his first woman.

Roll Ramblers, roll!
